In the distance is Negros Island, another long island that parallels Cebu Island.CEBU METROPOLITAN CATHEDRAL. For only 16 pesos (about 35 cents), you can take the 20 minute ferry ride across to Cebu Island.CEBU METROPOLITAN CATHEDRAL. A wedding was being performed today, so this was the furthest in that I could go. This is the grandest church in Cebu.WATER TOWER. Wandering on a backstreet near the market, I noticed this huge tower. Just liked the image. Made me think of the Leaning Tower of Pisa (but not leaning and not as nice.)This shrine is a large Catholic church in Lapu-Lapu City. It is notable in that it is one of the few churches in the world dedicated to the Black Madonna. It is a hive of community activity every day.This is a beauiful shot of Ayala Mall in Cebu. I have not found out what kind of tree this is, but I see many of these huge trees around Cebu. They form a nice, cool canopy that protects the customers from the blazing sun.
